A quote from one of Napoleon’s letters to Josephine
The first time i read this, i was in shock; all those European history lessons had been sent down the drain. I mean Napoleon was not all they portrayed him to be, there was actually a gentleman hidden in him…
Here goes:
” I have not spent a day without loving you;
I have not spent a night without
embracing you;
I have not so much as drunk a single
cup of tea without cursing the pride and
ambition to force me to remain separated
from the moving spirit of my life.
In the midst of my duties,
whether I am at the head of my army
or inspecting the campus,
my beloved Josephine stands alone in my heart,
occupies my mind and
fills my thoughts.”
[Napoleon Bonaparte 1769-1821]
How’s that for a guy… yeah, not really, i thought so…
